How to sell a job

There are so many different components to establishing a successful St Louis screen printing company that it’s hard to even know where to begin. One of the keys to this is establishing balance. An order is of no use unless it can be processed correctly and on time. Everything hinges on everything else. If I was to try to identify the very most important piece of the puzzle, I would have to say that marketing would be that piece. Here’s an example why, let’s just say you are the best St. Louis t-shirt printing company out there, but you don’t have any customers calling you up or walking in your door. It wouldn’t be long before you are out of business. On the other hand, let’s just say your average at what you do, but you are great at marketing and you have more customers reaching out to you than you can even handle, then you can make adjustments accordingly to cater to that work flow by doing things like outsourcing. There is often great power in a collective effort and there is a lot to be gained by networking with the right people. The right subcontractor can really make you look good, but you have to remember that it works both ways. The wrong one can make you look really bad. The key is that you have to align yourself with people that you can depend on and trust.

If you go about this the right way and are fortunate enough to strike up a relationship with these key individuals, then it will often help to alleviate growing pains like having to run out and get a bunch of new equipment or having to get a larger facility in order to accommodate all these customers and all of this fast growth.

I’ve always been of the opinion that selling the job is the most difficult part of this equation. There’s a lot of accomplished and talented individuals out there who can process the orders, but it’s much more challenging to find great sales people. Keep in mind that marketing and sales most certainly work together and go hand-in-hand, but they are not necessarily the same thing. Our embroidery company has expanded its market share far beyond just a local demographic because we are able to take advantage of social media platforms. There’s an old cliche that says it’s a small world, but because of the internet this is more true than ever before. Distance does not mean much anymore as long as you are able to sell and produce something that can be easily shipped and delivered. A great businessman is able to recognize what he does well and also be very aware of where he falls short. At that point you can find the right people to offset those weak points and allocate the work load accordingly to them. Let them do what they do well so you can focus on what you’re good at.

Please give us a call the next time you are looking for a St Louis screen printing and custom Embroidery company as we will prove to you that we have what it takes to not only give you the best pricing, but just as importantly process your order on time and with excellence!
