Offering A Free Garment As An Incentive

Whether you’re just trying to break into the St. Louis T-shirt printing industry or you’re a seasoned veteran and been around quite a while, here are a few suggestions that you might want to consider. The same potential client that uses screen printing could very likely also need custom embroidery, as well as digital applications later on down the line. The point I’m trying to make here is that you don’t want to limit yourself to just one type of garment decorating. The same individual that you just delivered to is already obviously sold on your ability to do a good job. There is an old Christian philosophy that says you get back by initiating giving something. You might want to consider just showing up with a nice application on the left chest of a jacket.

Here’s what you can expect by taking this approach. He is going to be taken back and have a great appreciation for that kind gesture. He’s going to be wearing it around the office and all his coworkers are going to notice it as well. They’re going to say that it’s a great looking jacket and ask him where he got it. The next thing out of their mouth is they are going to ask if they can have one too. It’s a very good bet that within just a few days after delivering it, the telephone is going to ring and it’s going to be that same guy placing an order for that same type of coat you delivered. Not only was it a very nice gesture on your part, but it was also a very smart move backed by Christian principles.

It’s much more prosperous to work smarter that it is harder. That being said, I am not opposed to hard work either. Let’s face it, you cannot pay your bills with effort! When it comes time to paying the rent on your screen printing equipment nobody cares how hard you tried. All they want is their money that they are due and they want it in full and on time. I’ve had a lot of people walk into the shop and asked me how I was doing. It was not uncommon that they caught me at a time where I told them that we were extremely busy and their normal response to that was, that’s good to hear. I would then reply with,”why is that?”. There is a huge difference between just being busy and actually making money. Just being busy is extremely overrated. I turn away a lot of work and the reason for this is that if it’s not profitable than I don’t want it.

One of the things I take great pride in is my ability to sell as well as market. No matter what industry you are in there is always somebody out there who is willing to give it away or sell it for much less than what it’s worth. The St. Louis digital T-shirt printing industry is no exception to that rule. Custom embroidery companies that take this approach ruined it for everyone who is trying to make a legitimate living. It is not uncommon that the business owner who is willing to give away his product for less than it’s worth not only sees to it that he doesn’t make a fair profit, but he also is likely to be out of business before long.
